We’re in This Together

I’ve come to appreciate the inclusiveness and spiritual adaptability of AA’s program of recovery—but it took me a while. Religious references in meetings and literature didn’t jibe with my secular and self-will-driven outlook on the world. They almost kept me from joining AA. But it wasn’t being an atheist that stood in the way of my recovery from alcoholism, it was my attitude.
