My Higher Power (and my therapist) gently guided me to an AA meeting in January of 1997. I was a mess. I had just gone through a breakup and was feeling very sorry for myself. My pride was smashed as my now-former girlfriend had left me for her daughter’s father, who was in prison. I was a working professional woman! What the heck was she thinking?
