Time Mended

I was born the second of three sons. We were 10, 7 and 6 years old when my parents split up. Mom and us boys moved into a three-bedroom apartment with my maternal grandparents. My father disappeared and never sent any alimony or child-support payments. I was embarrassed because my parents were divorced and because I didn’t have a father in my life. Also, we didn’t live in a single-family home like my friends did.
