Through Sober Eyes
In October 1987 I was 23 years old, unemployed and suffering from pancreatitis and I had just wrecked another car. I couldn’t seem to get a single day sober. I so wanted to see through sober eyes, but couldn’t even get through a morning without a drink. It was my last car wreck due to drinking, but it wasn’t my last day drunk. While home alone recovering from my injuries, I was still drinking all day and passing out at night. I wondered how on earth other people viewed life through sober eyes.
