The Spiritual Side of Life

I was seven years sober when my dad died. His health was failing, he had nowhere to go, and we let him stay with us on a temporary basis. My dad was an active alcoholic and drug addict but would never admit it. He lived with me, my husband, and our three kids for a week before the entire deal became a shambles and my husband and I made him leave. He left mad at me and died 24 hours later from a massive stroke and heart attack. This experience has been the hardest situation that I have had to deal with in sobriety and has been the biggest spiritual experience at the same time. The Big Book helped me see this.
