Becoming a movie star was her dream come true, but it turned out the script called for something much bigger

When I was 13, I picked up the phone and called AA. I lived in California at that time, and I was a real movie buff. I had watched “A Star is Born,” “Days of Wine and Roses” and “The Lost Weekend” over and over. I was calling AA for my mom. I told them my mother was an alcoholic and that she needed help. They sent someone to my house.
