I began my journey in sobriety in 1997 after several false starts. I had been blaming my drug addiction for my problems. Every time I drank I broke out in cocaine and handcuffs. I had resisted the idea of being an alcoholic. But I finally accepted that I was allergic to alcohol and that it was my primary drug of choice.
