Quiet Gifts

One day while standing in line, he paid his gratitude forward. Why that day? Why not?

Humility is very hard for me. Or I should say talking about humility is hard because I so want to have it. But I’ve heard it said before, “If you think you have it, you don’t have it.” My story is a beautiful example of my Higher Power and the program of AA working in and through me, and maybe a little lesson in true humility. I really wanted to share this story at a meeting, but I felt the act of talking about it would defeat the spirit of the message. It might be misconstrued as bragging, “Look at me, see what I did?” So I spoke with my sponsor, and he suggested, “Why don’t you submit it to the Grapevine anonymously?” So here goes.
