To Never Forget

Today his disease was cunning, baffling and powerful. Luckily, a fellow member shared just what he needed

Sometimes I can still easily remember taking my usual seat next to or as close as possible to the bartender’s pouring station. That would allow him or her to be able to pour my drinks—and those to follow—faster. I can almost taste the tequila and remember the burning wonder of that first drink of the day. That is, before the blackout. In the end, my brain was always fighting the good fight, yet my body and spirit were telling me I was KO’d.
