Mr. Loudmouth
Of course it was the angry, obnoxious guy who taught him his first real lesson of principles before personalities
“Mr. Loudmouth” was well known as the local AA tolerance tester of the small community I got sober in. He was loud, angry, obnoxious, rude, and he told so many tall tales that it seemed impossible he could stay sober in a program that demands rigorous honesty. Still, he did stay sober, or abstinent at least. Because of his behavior, he was not called on often to share. Rather, he was usually the very last person at the meeting called on when the chairperson’s attempt to avoid subjecting the group to his tirades proved impossible.
