The deeper meaning and resonance of her sobriety

After ten years as an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous I’ve come to realize how important my connection with God is to my sobriety and life in general. Each day I start with quick prayers, asking my Higher Power for strength to stay sober for the day and the willingness to seek and follow his will. I also pray the Third and Seventh Step prayers. I heard a woman share her story when I was new to AA and this was her morning routine. She had something I wanted.  I couldn’t quite identify what it was, but my first thought was, “I can pray like that.”
