Life Beyond My Wildest Dreams

I never wanted to stop using alcohol and drugs, that was not part of my plan. I mean honestly, I thought everyone drank and used like me. What else was I to think, since I surrounded myself with "like -minded people.” I found that after being in the program for a while that I didn't have that story where people said they took their first drink and felt "a part of' or "prettier, smarter, or more fun." I drank because everyone else did—it was just what you did in my neighborhood—and because I'm an alcoholic and addict.
