Once drunk behind a bar, she now has a safe, sober place for her heart to rest when life gets heavy

I entered the doctor’s office unable to walk, feeling defeated and reeking of death. I had internal bleeding, my hair was falling out and I was completely jaundiced. I had entered depths of depression that were foreign territory. Alcohol was all I needed to forget about the pain. I was in a slow suicide at the age of 29.
