Just Like Dad
As a kid, he and his sober father were buddies. But once he started drinking everything changed
My dad got sober when I was 10 years old. I don’t have too many memories of his drinking—mainly I recall him sitting in his chair after work every night, scotch in hand—but I definitely remember when he got sober. It was one of the highlights of my childhood.
