She called the AA hotline one desperate night, praying for someone to pick up

Five months ago, I was at the lowest point in my life, struggling mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. It was just one of those days, nothing stressful or bad occurring, but I could not get my mind to pull itself out of the negativity and self-pity. It all began as a typical Saturday, crawl out of bed at 4:30 a.m.—insomnia haunted me nightly—stagger to the kitchen, pray little elves came in the night to brew my coffee, of course, no such luck. Finally, the sweet sound of caffeine —but who took the last of the Tylenol, again?
