Changing a slogan to make it work for you

Early in my sobriety, I found the slogans to be very helpful tools when it came to changing the tapes in my head or refocusing me on my recovery journey. I remember in the early days when I would find myself baffled or irritable, there was “HALT” (Hungry, Angry, Lonely Tired) to help me understand what was going on inside of me.  If couldn’t figure out my next actions, “First Things First” was always helpful. And if I found myself taking someone’s inventory, judging the way they lived their lives, “Live And Let Live “ applied very nicely.
