I’m Just Like Everyone Else

The longer he’s sober, the less he knows everything.
He just tries to stay grateful and remain a beginner

At one point in my sobriety, I had an idea that it helped newly sober people to hear statistics that suggested that they had a small chance of staying sober. It seemed to me that this approach was “tough love” and a “truth” that might shake them into action. Today I don’t see it as love or truth; I see it as my own self-centered fear.
