“One Day at a Time” takes on new meaning when you are awaiting brain surgery

You’ve heard people say that they are double winners (Al-Anon and AA). Well, I consider myself a triple winner. I was first a member of Al-Anon which led me to the life-saving program of Alcoholics Anonymous in 1981. Then in late 2017 I learned that I had a cerebral aneurysm. Just like the day I remember realizing I was an alcoholic, I remember very clearly that day in early November, hearing those words from my doctor.
