I Just Kept Praying

I will never forget waking up hungover and groggy that morning after my drunken automobile accident. I can totally recall the accident, the trip to the hospital and the ride in the New Jersey State Trooper’s car to the station. Oh, but then I suddenly remembered the DUI ticket. And there was also the humiliation of having to phone my wife to come pick me up from the station and the subsequent long, silent ride home (I would have preferred another tongue lashing).
