A powerful story of homelessness in sobriety

I’ve been thinking about my journey into sobriety, and even though my life has been pretty good since I sobered up 35 years ago, it has not been a perfect life by any means. In fact, in my recovery, I’ve been homeless and lived in my car from three years at a time with my dog Trinkette in tow. I was homeless because I had filed for disability—other friends of mine had gone through this and had to give up their homes or not be able to survive.
