End of the Road

He thought he got away with his drunken drive that night, but luckily, someone had his eye on him

That morning, I woke up with a throbbing hangover as large as Mount Everest. While looking for my car keys, I remembered having an accident on a country road somewhere between where I worked and home. I walked outside to the driveway of my house and a nauseous, anxious feeling came over me when I saw that the front bumper of my car was missing. Eventually, I found my keys. But then panic set in as I wondered if there had been a passenger in my car. Could someone have been injured? A monsoon of scary scenarios permeated my consciousness, and after a few hours I decided to try to retrace my steps from the night before.
