The writer of “Just Like Dad” shares how he and his sober dad were buddies when he was a kid, but once he started drinking, that all ended. The idea of sobriety repelled him. When he finally hit bottom, because of his dad he knew where to go. Today he and his dad are good friends again. “He has a great life,” he writes about his dad. “One that I want for myself.”
