Digging The Steps

Determined to do his Seventh Step, a member grabs his boots, bundles up and gives it his all

I see our Seventh Step, in which we “humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings” as an opportunity for me to change my personality for the better. The short paragraph in “Into Action” in our Big Book is pretty simple. It asks us to say a prayer, known as the Seventh Step Prayer: “My Creator, I am now willing that you should have all of me, good and bad. I pray that you now remove from me every single defect of character which stands in the way of my usefulness to you and my fellows. Grant me strength, as I go out from here, to do your bidding. Amen.”
