Courage to Change

My son is 16 and a sophomore in high school. Academic excellence is not important to him. I wonder where he gets that from? While my own high school achievements were not important to me, his academic success is. So much so that I have pushed us both to the point of causing fights, creating low self-esteem in him and making him feel his efforts are not good enough. It was creating so much stress and tension in our household.
