Courage and Guts

“How will AA take away my pain?" I boldly asked while pounding the table to emphasis my point. I was in my second year of sobriety and had encountered my first pothole on this road to happy destiny. The leader took a breath, exhaled, and said: "AA will not take away your pain, but we will hold your hand and walk you through it."
