Alone and panic-stricken on her first sober Christmas, she didn’t care what time it was. She went to find her people
Christmas was approaching. I had taken my white chip five months earlier, so I planned Christmas Eve carefully. That day I went to a noon AA meeting at our local sober clubhouse. I spent the afternoon with AA people; we went to dinner and then saw the movie, “Little Shop of Horrors.” As I drove home I congratulated myself on doing so well on a potentially emotional day. I went to bed and quickly fell asleep.
